INSTALLING YOUR HOME CHARGER

  1. Online questionnaire and charger selection

    If you need a charger installed, complete our short form and then British Gas will contact you to start your journey. You will then complete an online questionnaire so British Gas can understand the requirements of your installation. You will then select your charger of choice.

  2. Virtual home check

    A quick video call will then be arranged with British Gas which should take no longer than 30 minutes. This will enable British Gas to understand where you want your charger installed and any other installation requirements.

  3. Compliance and regulation

    Installation of a home charger requires a notification to the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) who control the electricity distribution for your local area. This is a compulsory step in any installation and British Gas will manage this on your behalf.

  4. Installation Day

    On your chosen day of installation, you will receive a text to confirm your appointment time.

    The installation itself will take between two and three hours, but it can vary depending on your home’s requirements. Once installed, British Gas will show you how it works and answer any questions you may have.

  5. Join e:PROGRESS

    Connect your new charger in the e:PROGRESS app and you can start saving with Intelligent Charging.

    British Gas will help you with the initial connection and will also be on hand for any support needed with the charger.
